Women in Transition is a safe and confidential shelter for abused women and their children. The shelter can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Crisis line: (506)459-2300

Gignoo Transition House is a safe and confidential shelter for abused women and their children. The main focus at Gignoo Transition House is to meet the needs of Aboriginal women and children in crisis. The shelter can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Legal Information

Public Legal Education and Information Services of New Brunswick
Their mandate is to develop a variety of biligual educational products and services about the law for the public in order to promote access to the legal system. This site contains information about domestic violence and the law. Many publications are also available. Helping New Brunswickers know the law. 
Government Agencies for Domestic Violence
Women's Equality Branch
The Women's Equality Branch provides policy advice and support to the Minister responsible for the Status of Women; coordinates the implementation of the government's action plan on violence against women; supports the work of the Wage Gap Roundtable; liaises with departments of government and the Advisory Council on the Status of Women on issues of concern to women.

Status of Women Canada
Status of Women Canada (SWC) is the federal government agency that promotes gender equality. One issue that this agency works toward is the elimination of systemic violence against women and children. They also have a variety of publications available.

Fredericton Sexual Assault Centre
The Fredericton Sexual Assault Crisis Centre is a volunteer organization whose primary goal is reflected in a commitment to work towards the eradication of sexual violence against women and children. Some of their services include a crisis line, support for survivors and free individual support in the centre.

Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research
The FVRC was created in response to the need for a proactive approach to prevent the recurrence of family violence. The website has information on many aspects of family violence.

National Clearinghouse on Family Violence
The NCFV is Canada's resource center for information on violence within relationships of kinship, intimacy, dependency or trust. A variety of publications are available.

The National Aboriginal Circle Against Family Violence
The goal of the NACAFV is to reduce and one day, eliminate family violence in Aboriginal communities. The NACAFV initiates, designs and delivers culturally appropriate programs and services to address family violence and to support shelters and family violence centres. This site contains information about Aboriginal shelters across Canada. Publications are also available on this site.
